The Landscape Bedroom
A room scheme built around a hand-finished mural, soft colour and natural textures.
Kirstene reimagines furniture and rooms through gold leaf, decorative paint, reupholstery, murals, decoupage and carefully considered interior styling. Every project is designed to feel individual, layered and full of character.
Decorative finishes and room styling designed to sit naturally within heritage spaces.
Not simply restored. Reimagined with texture, atmosphere and an artist’s eye.

Selected work
These images show the breadth of Kirstene’s work, from room schemes and decorative finishes to furniture transformations, bespoke objects and commissioned portraits.

A statement cabinet transformed with a luminous metallic interior.
Functional design with an expressive, hand-crafted edge.
Furniture, textiles and colour working together to create atmosphere.
Hand-painted portraits that capture the character and individuality of the people who matter most.
Before & after
This chair is a perfect example of Kirstene’s approach. The shape and timber had character, but the upholstery had seen better days. Recovered in a pale velvet with contrast piping, it becomes calmer, fresher and far more considered without losing the integrity of the original frame.
Decorative finishes
Kirstene’s work is not limited to standalone furniture. Hand-applied decorative finishes bring depth and atmosphere to architectural details, alcoves, cabinetry and entire spaces.
Services
Projects can range from a single inherited chair to a complete decorative scheme for a room. Each brief is shaped around the piece, the house and the client.
Taking existing furniture and transforming it into something distinctive, personal and beautifully finished.
From subtle highlights to full metallic interiors and statement surfaces.
New fabric, trim and detailing that reframe a piece without losing its underlying character.
Painterly colour, texture, aged effects, murals and surfaces with real depth.
Pattern, layering and collage used with restraint or theatricality depending on the brief.
Creative direction for individual rooms so the transformed piece feels fully at home.
About Kirstene
Kirstene works at the point where interior design, decorative art and object transformation meet. Her projects are united by a love of texture, old pieces with potential and spaces that feel collected rather than formulaic.
From gilded furniture and mural-backed rooms to commissioned oil portraits, every project is guided by the same attention to colour, character and detail.
“I love taking a piece or a room with history and giving it a completely new presence without losing its soul.”
